Digital transformation for the largest biotech company in the world
Partnering with Roche, we created a dynamic web app that enables pathologists to access medical education and scientific exchange.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, Roche provided pathologists with medical education and scientific exchange through in-person conferences and training. As travel became limited, Roche chose to pivot toward a more sustainable, digital environment where pathologists could still gather to learn, exchange ideas and continue building community in a robust way.
Considering our specific end user, we approached the design and architecture through the lens of being highly detailed and organized. Labeling and filtering throughout the app are very specific to the industry. Rather than making the user search by broad topics, we designed a flow for users to search in narrow lanes like specific disease states. In addition to creating a robust search within the platform, we designed an easy-to-use comment feature linked to each individual resource.
Due to the larger team of engineers and quick timeline, one of our main goals was to keep the project and product team highly collaborative and think in terms of post-MVP scalability. We utilized a React component library to give the app a cohesive look and keep the end product ready to scale.
